Lorraine’s House and The Farmhouse are sober living homes, specifically designed for women who are struggling with addiction. Anyone who can admit that they struggle with addiction, has a choice to begin to change the path that they find themselves spiraling down.
Sober living homes in Kansas City invite in those who are ready to face their fears and their addictions and create and community environment that will help them learn and develop skills that they can carry with them back out into the real world.
If you or someone you know is considering making a change and facing their addiction, we’d like to highlight what a sober living home can do for them.
First and foremost, our homes provide structure and boundaries for the woman who have found themselves entangled in the web of addiction and quickly losing control of their life as they know it. Within these boundaries they are taught skills that will not only help them transition into healthier lifestyles, but also leave them feeling confident and hopeful that they can once again take control of their lives.
Second, in the spirit of community, the home offers communal living and the chance to share and interact with others who are experiencing similar battles internally and externally.
Finally, in a sober living home and especially at Lorraine’s House and the Farmhouse we go to great lengths to create a safe space where there is confidentiality and where each woman who enters our space is seen as the unique beauty that we know she already is.
Statistically, there are fewer sober living homes available for women than there are for men. Often childcare and pregnancy are a factor in considering housing women so the ability to care for all their needs becomes even more specific and sometimes complicated.
We believe in empowering and helping these women uncover the best of their abilities and we are honored to be a stepping stone in their path to success!
